End of support for Windows 7 & Windows Server 2008

Image title

Microsoft has announced that it will end support for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 on 14 January 2020 as they come to the end of their 10-year cycle. By ending support for these products, it allows Microsoft to focus on new and improved technologies. If you continue to use Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 after support has ended, you will be at high risk of cybersecurity threats and viruses, as Microsoft will no longer issue important software or security updates.

Installation of Windows 10

If your computer qualifies, we can simply update and install Windows 10. To qualify, computers must be modern enough and powerful enough to run Windows 10 and have a licensed version of Windows 7 Professional or Windows 8.

Some PCs will be too old or slow to run Windows 10. If your computer does not qualify and you do not want to purchase a new computer, we may be able to provide a hardware upgrade which includes:

  • 8 GB RAM (memory)
  • 500 GB Solid State Disk

After the hardware upgrade, qualifying PCs will be able to run Windows 10.

Migrating from Windows Server 2008

Migrating your server is a more time-consuming process than upgrading your operating system, but means your business will have greater security, performance and innovation. Our qualified technicians can migrate your Windows Server 2008 to the latest operating software and ensure a smooth changeover process. If you do not upgrade your server before the end of support, your business will become an easy target for cyber attacks.
